Thanks for the tip about taking the rack apart. You are definitely right, it was a bitch to put on, but this made it a little easier. After much cussing I think I have a combination that works to install this thing. If you first take it apart and go ahead and remove all the fender support bolts, then you can install each side seperatly. I was lucky and didn't have to redrill any holes, but it was a close call. After you get all the bolts back in, don't tighten them up, but go ahead and put the rack back together, not tightning the bars all the way until all are in place. It helped me to put some small pieces of foam rubber between the bars and the tail light lens to buffer some of the pressure. Once all the bars are in place, go ahead and tighten everything up. It is a very tight fit, but I bet it won't rattle. A friend once told me that there are no simple projects on a bike and after what should have been a 15 min. job I believe her.
